Maternity pay

Do you get maternity pay from the government if you are unemployed? My midwife never gave me a MB1 form and was wondering does that mean I get no financial aid?

You are intitled to statutory pay. You do need a form for this, I had to ask for the form, wasn't offered.

You have to ask your midwife for your matb. You can claim maternity allowance if unemployed.

I work 8hrs a week an am not entitled to SMP as I don't earn enough each week, I was entitled to maternity allowance but then was made aware that if I receive the allowance every single penny I get would come off my UC payment which I can't afford to happen as this pays out bigger bills. So I am left for a whole year with no pay 😩

I was confused because my midwife told me she would give it to me originally but I never received it. With my first pregnancy I was working and get given it without asking

Just ask for the form u get asked at every appointment if I have been given it.
