Does he have cmpa?

My son is 4 months, he was exclusively breast fed till 3 months then we started one formula bottle a day. He’s had a bunch of baby acne from 1-2 months then it went away. At 3 months when we started the formula he started getting rashes on his neck and armpits, doctor thought it was yeast tried yeast medicine didn’t work so switched to a steroid cream for ezcema. That helped. I noticed that he was getting super gassy with formula so I stopped formula all together about two weeks ago strictly breast milk. But all of a sudden he’s getting rash/baby acne/ezcema all over his face, spots on his back, his arms, and his scalp. He also the past two weeks is struggling to poop so I have to use a gas passer and when it eventually comes out it’s green and is like half straight diarrhea and the other half is thick mucusy chunks. Also he has pretty bad reflux. I stopped formula but could my breast milk still be causing it? If that’s even what this is?

Hi Kayla. It does seem like an allergy. What does his doctor think now? As for the possible source, some babies are sensitive even to the trace amounts of allergens they get in breast milk if you had had the allergen yourself. It can be milk and/or other allergies as well. To find out you usually have to exclude one allergen at a time from your diet for a couple of weeks till there is some improvement then re-introduced to your diet again and see what happens. My son has dairy (all milk related products) and soy. A friend’s kid has oat. Others have corn. But dairy/ dairy and soy are the most common.
