Was just about to ask this! Ours says pee pee and poo poo but is totally fine rocking a full diaper 😂 she actually fights her changes 😂
Our pediatrician also gave us the go ahead to start child led potty training at 18m since my son has good language! We have a potty and I sit him on it when he wakes up from his nap if he wants, and he’ll pee. Definitely showing interest and other signs of readiness (staying dry overnight and at naps, asking for a new diaper, indicating when he is pooping)
All so cool. We have our 18m visit next month so we shall see. I’m hesitant to start though bc we are about to transition her to her own room and we have a new baby coming feb 2025. don’t want to overwhelm her with new things. @Alexa was there a book that helped your son understand using potty etc? Ever since we bought a book that helps my daughter with understanding a baby is on the way she has loved babies and kisses my tummy and says hi to baby. So I believe a book about going potty could help too!
@Carolyn we have our second coming April 2025 so I’m hoping to have him day trained before then! Not quite as much time for you guys, and totally get not wanting to have too many transitions. He actually loves the book Potty by Leslie Patricelli, but we got the Lovevery potty training set and book pack - he LOVES those books haha I think it’s the real pictures

Thank you mamas. I guess I’ll start as soon as I get several days off in a row. For now, ill work on familiarizing him on terms with Elmo potty video and an Elmo potty book I just ordered. I also have baby 2 on the way, due Jan. Congratulations 🤍 @Carolyn what book did you read to get your first born ready for baby 2? That’s a great idea!
We are starting at 18 months! Baby boy is a little under 17 months right now but he tells us *poop* whenever he goes and our pediatrician says his language skills are advanced enough to start! Until then, he goes to the bathroom with each of us and we talk about what's happening, show him what's in the potty, so he starts learning the language and gets comfortable with the toilet! Good luck on your journey! We're excited to start!
