Christmas craft ideas

I've been getting ready for Christmas! As it's my little one's first Christmas I would like to make it special! I'm hoping to measure her height on a ribbon and put the ribbon inside a bauble with the poem: 'This ribbon is very special indeed because if you untie it it's the exact same size as me! Keep this to remember how little I was in 2024.' I've seen this poem on a tag outside the bauble, but I'd really love to place it inside it, to keep it safe. Any ideas on how I put the poem inside without it looking tacky or messy? Are there any other crafts that I should be doing? Photo insert of clay hand print Santa's!

Is that Air dry clay? I’ve always wanted to make some ornaments but I’ve never used clay

@Sarah yes it is. I used the brand DAS as it's non toxic to little hands 😊

@Emily I bought it from 'The works' They have this brand (DAS) in white and terracotta (you'll need more layers of acrylic to coat the terracotta colour, but it'll also work), they also have it in 'Hobbycraft too'. Hope this helps!

@Jess it's lovely! Hoping to do this too! Are you going to leave the label on the outside? I want it to last so I'm thinking of making it look like a little book and putting it inside the bauble. My husband thinks I'm insane, I think I just might be...

One I did for first Christmas was her first pair of frilly white socks. I stuffed them lightly, sewed a red ribbon loop on and embroidered her initials and the year. Like a mini teeny stocking x

@Jess laminating is a good shout! If you do, I would try to make sure to cut down the paper first and then laminate so there's an edge of laminated plastic around it! If you laminate then cut the paper the seal will be open and if humidity gets to it, it may warp x
