How are we getting kid to pee on the potty?

My little one is showing signs she is ready to potty train, she hiding to poop, pulls on her diapers and some other things but I can’t seem to get her to pee on her potty. We can sit on it for 20 mins and as soon as I put the diaper back on the diaper line turns blue 🫠. I’m not trying to rush her and I don’t need her to use it every-time but it’s been 2 weeks and not a drop of pee in the toilet.

Probably just not ready yet give her a little bit longer maybe try again in a month or two :)

We sit after wake ups, meals, and before (sometimes after too) baths. She doesn’t always go. We prompt her with sounds for pee and poop, so when she does go we make those sounds and she now associates peeing and pooping with it.

We haven’t technically started full-blown potty training, but we got an Elmo training potty a while back. It doubles as a stool and she loooves to wash her hands in the sink when she gets up on it. We just put it in the bathroom for a while and got her used to the idea of sitting on it (fully clothed, just the idea of sitting). It also has a fake flusher that makes noise that she loves to play with. I started noticing that she has been peeing as soon as I put her in the bathtub (she would stand and pee before she would sit down). So I figured I would try to sit her on the toilet right before I put her in the bath and she peed the first time we tried. And now she pees 90% of the time I put her on the potty. She’s still in diapers and I’m not so sure she’s ready to start full-blown potty training. It just seemed to work when trying at times that I know she usually pees (which is a lot, but of course you can’t always predict it). There have been some floor accidents though-Not rushing it

@Lindsey Yes, we’re not wanting to full blown start yet either but just try a pee a day on it so it’s easier when she ready to stop diapers but I’ll try the bath and sitting tip!

You’re doing great with having her sit on it even if she doesn’t pee yet. She will get it eventually. My girl also goes into the bathroom with us so she gets the idea of peeing in the bathroom. She is constantly saying “pee pee” and I feel like it’s helping her learn.
