Need advice, am I wrong?

I want to try for another baby already but my sister and her partner have said they’re going to try in July for a baby. I think if I get pregnant again before her she might be jealous… should I wait?

Do what you want to do! Your sister should be happy for you regardless

You're not in the wrong at all and you shouldn't change what you do to save other peoples feelings

@Rowena I want to be selfless but I just know what she’s like and can’t be bothered for the hassle

@anon thank you, it’s so hard. We’re very close and I know she’ll have opinions on me having another one so soon after my first born. She’s got an 8 year old and desperately wants another baby. I just know she’ll be annoyed

Well yeah that is pretty shit for her having to wait 8 years between and I'd be pretty miffed if I was your sister because I'd be jealous of the age gap and how you've not had to be patient for years. However, why should you be miserable because of someone else? My only negative view on this is that it's best to leave it at least a year between babies as you need to get your body back to good shape and having them before 1 year increases the chance of postpartum haemorrhage and a few other bits but again it's your choice 🤷🏼‍♀️ If you go for it and she kicks off then just ignore it and focus on yourself

@anon this is why it’s hard, she was 18 when she had her son and she’s been in and out of different relationships for years and been with her partner now for 7 months, whereas I’m married and been with my husband for 8.5 years so we’re in very different situations. I’m going to speak to my health visitor about wanting another one as well. Xx

SIL 1 had her first in 2014 and then my other SIL 2 got pregnant due jan 2020 and SIL 1 got pregnant again due may 2020 and it was a bit crap that SIL 2'S firstborn didnt get much lone attention but they're also best friends and going to school together it could also work out really really well if it all happens at similar times. Good idea on the health visitor, if they can't provide much information then see if your doctors surgery has a doctor or nurse who specialises in womens health and get an appointment with them

You can’t plan YOUR life and family around other people 🩷
