HR People: To Leave or Not

Since I returned to work 4 months ago, it feels like everything has changed or nothing has changed but needs to. Since I've been back I can't seem to get all my tasks back because my MAT predecessor gave them to the new hr person (now he won't let them go and I think he thinks I'm incompetent even though I've had to correct or train him on stuff). My LO just hand foot and mouth so I had to miss a couple of days and now I'm being threatened with being put on the attendance program. I never miss time in my 3 years (2 -3 days a year). On top of that, this boss doesn't trust his employees enough, so new work is never handed down. Lastly, the commute is 2 hours a day and has been affecting my work-life balance (diabetes and don't have time to excersize and now my sugars are out of control). I recently completed my management designation and thought I would leave after baby #2 but with everything going on I'm not sure I want to wait. This current role pays good and has good benefits plus I have moved around alot the last 10 years (6 jobs). I dont have to worry about learning a new job. On the other hand, I would have to deal with the current politics. I feel like a new place might have better work-life balance of I look for it. And it's good pay increase if I step into a management role. Can you guys tell me your thoughts please I need help.

When does baby #2 arrive?

@Mircale not even conceived yet. I was planning. To start trying in December.

I would at least start looking now. If you are planning on conceiving you will need to be wary of companies that make you wait to be fully benefit eligible. Some places you don’t qualify for full maternity leave for 4-12 months so if you conceive and give birth before you are benefit eligible you could end up in a sticky situation. If you are planning to have a baby soon though it’s probably best to just ride it out where your benefits are guaranteed.

How old is your first

It would be more of a risk to conceive and then have uncontrolled sugars as well as shade thrown at you for all the extra appointments and pregnancy related scans etc you would need. Start looking for another job, especially one that would let you work from home if possible. Health comes first (coming from a T1D who left her job for her second baby) Good luck!
