Cold wipe under the navel wait about 1-2mins then change him should help some is he is just peeing but poop just wait him out or multiple changes are just a part of the game right now.
If it's pee the diaper can stay on, it's meant to hold a certain amount safely and comfortably, and while you shouldn't leave it on for longer than 3 hours, leaving it on till then is fine. If they're soaking through a diaper in that amount of time you may need to look into sizing up. If it's poop, thenwhen your baby poops, do some bicycle kicks and belly squishes (a nurse at your next well baby check can show you how if you're nervous about it) and wait about 2-3 minutes after they first start pooping, then change them. Sometimes, especially when they're that new, getting the whole poop out at once can be hard. Either giving them a minute to work at it or helping them can really reduce the number of extra diapers you need. Our kiddo spent the first 2 weeks of his life in the hospital with really bad jaundice and didn't have the strength to finish a poop on his own, so a nurse showed us how to help him and idk that we did another double diaper since
You can let the baby pee in the toilet or a small bowl with your support each time upon waking or a diaper change. This will save a ton of diapers for sure. I started putting my baby over my older son's tiny potty at diaper changes and he started going poo on there regularly. I didn't change a poopy diaper from 2.5 months to 9.5 months old, then he started walking and wouldn't let me do it anymore, he was too impatient by then 😄 but yeah it is nice not to have to change so many diapers. All I remember about that age is projectile pee and poo lol I think it’s normal. They eventually regulate
Definitely open the nappy slightly, wipe under the navel and close it back up... He'll pee so you'll be safe to do a change with no extra peeing
Pee or poo? If it’s pee they can have a few pee sessions in one diaper - if it’s poo unfortunately it just is what it is and needs to be changed again. I will say this only lasts the first month or two then it slows down
