I wouldn't say there's a set amount.

Some say 3months pay but I say whatever the couple would be comfortable spending. I told my husband to keep it cheap when he decided. I honestly wanted something fake as I can't wear it much but he chose real. Spent around $1600 which was more than I was thinking he would lol

Under $500, I would way rather the rest of the money go to a honeymoon

Mine was $2500 ($2000 for the engagement ring, and $500 for my matching wedding band). Went with moissanite and it is STUNNING while also being a great value!

Why does it even matter?! It can cost $10. It’s the idea of engagement, not the price of the ring… or at least to me it doesn’t matter.

My engagement ring was from Amazon that we both picked out. My current wedding ring set is from Amazon also.

This is absolutely a personal question. We thought might from the joint account so I might not be the best person to ask 😂

I actually think its vulgar to think that an engagement ring has to be so much of their wage. To me the fact they are asking you to marry them, be a unit and have spent any sort of money on something to symbolise their love for you should mean more

No set amount, everyone's circumstances are different..

I have no idea how much mine cost and it doesn’t matter to me anyway.

It shouldn't matter.

Mine was a $50 pandora ring and I love it!

I think your partner should be prepared to spend upto 3 months worth. The point is that it’s a sacrifice and an investment in you. My partner set aside the full 3 months worth and wanted me to have exactly what I wanted. We ended up spending less but I got a ring and a matching necklace. It’s not about the amount but it’s about the willingness to invest in you

3 months salary is an insane amount of money to spend on a ring. 3 months of my husband’s salary is 2/3 the cost of our entire wedding. Absolutely unnecessary. Cost shouldn’t be an issue, if it’s something you love then who tf cares.

However much or little you want. Mine is less than $200 and I absolutely love it.

Whatever a person wants to spend on another. Our budgets are all different, some will have cheaper rings and some will have expensive rings. Everyone makes different salaries, has different savings and lifestyles.

‘Traditionally’ they’d save up 3 months salary worth for the ring but there is no way I’d want my partner to spend that much on a ring, there are much more important things to spend that kind of money on in this current climate. In all honestly I really don’t care what he decides to spend, I’ll just be happy to finally call him my husband and share the same last name as him and my kids.

discuss it with your partner! to some it doesn’t matter, to me it didn’t but my husband’s mindset was “it’s showing my commitment not just emotionally but financially to care for you” so he spent more than id like to say out loud lol

Depends on how much your man makes. He also eventually has to buy the matching wedding band. My engagement ring alone was 25k and I don’t even wear it much. There’s also the question of if you or your husband think lab made rings are okay. Personally, idc but my husband thinks lab diamonds are fake.

My engagement ring was £400 and my wedding ring was £600, i personally don’t like the fact my husband spent that much on them. My husbands wedding band was £20 from an antique store 🤷🏻‍♀️ my husband would’ve liked to have spent the traditional 3 months wages but I wouldn’t allow it

Personally I’d rather get a cheap ring and have him buy me something I can enjoy more. Like coffee.

@Lauren sounds about right, pretty much every celebration is a marketing ploy 😂

Idk maybe it’s shallow of me but I want a nice ring🤷🏼‍♀️

The best you can afford to make the receiver happy.

Mine is from Pandora £30 & I absolutely love mine x

Personally , at least $100 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
