Induction at Frimley

Does anyone know how the induction at Frimley works... we are now 35 weeks and been told we will give birth at 38 or 39 owing to gestational diabetes. My final scan is the 23rd, do they then tell you the induction date? Do you wait for a call? Just keen to know what to expect x

You should have an appointment with your consultant to discuss dates etc. It might be that you see them after your scan… I know this has been the case with all my friends. But regardless, you should know by end of your scan appointment when you’re going in. Usually they give you a time to go in (although sometimes they do also say wait for a call in the morning and they give you a time during the call), all depends on how many term births they’re expecting that week xx

On my final consultation i was then given a date, and i chose my preferred time i went with as early as possible, unsure if thats always the case that you can chose your time to arrive. x

I was induced at Frimley on my due date due to GD. But we were given a choice of dates, unfortunately didn't get to choose the time. This was given at the last consultant apt. So you should find out on 23rd x

I was given the induction date on an appointment with my consultant which was 3 days prior to the date

I can only speak for 12 years ago. I went in the day before for a steroid injection 💉 to boost her lungs as I was 34 weeks pregnant and went back the next morning got settled in a room they checked in on me a few times and induced me with jelly up there twice and in total took 17.5 hrs that ended in a C- Section but that was down to complications. Not every induction starts and ends like this though it all depends. All the best though it's exciting that you have a rough date to see your baby x
