Food and blood thinners!

Just found out I’m pregnant 5 days ago and not exactly sure how far along I am as of yet! I didn’t have normal cycles so I could be 4-6 weeks. Going to OB this week to find out more. My first question is, I don’t really eat much in general. Usually skipped breakfast and only ate lunch & dinner with sometimes a snack in between. Now I’m freaking out that im nauseous and eating less than I normal would. Should I be eating a bunch right now or is this normal?? Second question, I have a blood clotting disorder so my hematologist placed me on blood thinner injections. Anyone been through this? Have any tips? Thank you in advance ☺️

In the first trimester, the baby is tiny so caloric needs are similar to when not pregnant. I found protein helped more with the nausea than the more typical carbs/crackers I see people eating but it was a bit hard to find high protein foods that sounded tolerable. I definitely was eating less in first trimester and then gained most of my weight in the second.

Thank you for this. I’ve been stressing myself out over this

Totally understand! I was worried too and my midwife reassured me that if all I could eat was bread and crackers, baby would be able to live on that (but take a prenatal vitamin!)
