How low is too low?

Hi girls. I’ve been taking 1 Metformin in the morning then x2 in the evening which has kept my day readings in the green, however my fasting reading in the morning is always high so they have put me on 4ml insulin in the evening. Yesterday my reading was 2.9 and today 1.6 which seems incredibly low now. Should I stop taking the evening Metformin (already dropped down to one last night) someone said too low can be dangerous so looking for some advice as the nurses office isn’t open until tomorrow. Thanks x

That seems too low. Maybe give them call tomorrow and tell them you've had 2 low readings. Mine when low I was pregnant and they wanted me to stop taking it if it went that low again

@Katie thanks for your reply, not sure what to do this evening, should I skip the insulin do you think and just take the Metformin? X

@Laura 🌻 it might be worth skipping and seeing how your readings are tomorrow. I missed a few of mine and didn't do much

Yeah that's way too low, anything under 3.8 is low so those are really low. I'd stop the insulin until medical advice.

What dose of insulin are you on. It may be that you need a lower dose of Insulin than the starting dose. Don't skip the metformin it's best to be on that with Insulin for your pancreas. Your levels shouldn't really be dipping below 4 xx

@Emma was on 4 units but the nurse has took me off completely now, I sleep really badly so she now thinks I didn’t need insulin and my high morning results are due to poor sleep. Had 2 green mornings since coming off insulin 🫠
