high risk pregnancy

Is anyone else a high-risk pregnancy? I found out the blood flow from me to the placenta is not as strong as expected so I am now taking 2 aspirin a day to thin the blood and will have 3 extra scans as I am at higher risk of pre-eclampsia and baby being smaller. This is such a shock because I had a textbook perfectly smooth pregnancy with my first who I gave birth to in June last year. they said not to worry so im trying not to, just wondering if there is anyone else! (it was picked up on my 12-week scan and confirmed at my last midwife appointment)

I'm classed as sort of high risk. I'm 38 n type 2 diabetes. I also have to take aspirin. This is also my second pregnancy n with my first no problems at all. X

I am also having to take 2 Aspirin a day and extra folic acid, as well as the regular multivitamin until the end of my pregnancy to ensure I thin my blood etc. and keep both my baby and I safe. Mine is high risk due to my BMI, however they have advised that it is just a safety measure they take and most go on to have normal pregnancies of those who are not considered high risk. It scared me, as I hear the word ‘risk’ and instantly think of everything bad but I have been told my baby is healthy, strong heartbeat and growing perfect for the gestation I am so hopefully, this maintains throughout! Stay positive ❤️

I'm high risk, high bmi, low papp-a. Was medium risk with baby I had in December due to bmi and placental lakes. Been told this time I'll need asprin of 150mg at night, extra folic acid and blood thinners from 28 weeks. It's all very scary but I'm sure we will all be fine xx

Hey, I am classed as high risk as I have high bp. On Aspirin also, it’s better because you get more scans and can see the little bean and you will probs be under a consultant. The aspirin will just thin the blood and make sure little bean will get all the food its needs! It’s good they have seen in and trying to prevent it xx

I’m high risk and have extra scans book as well and on two aspirin a day and have extra appointments with my consultant x

Hey I’m extremely high risk after severe pre eclampsia, HELLP and FGR with my son who was born at 26+5 last August. I have a lot of anxiety during this pregnancy but the professionals have been fab! I’ve been on 150mg of aspirin from 8 weeks. I’m monitoring my own bp and urine at home and from 24 weeks I get extra scans as my son stopped growing then

I had high blood pressure in my last pregnancy and was induced because of it so I'm consultant lead at the moment in case it develops again this time. I have to take aspirin, they do extra checks at 20 weeks to check the blood flow and I'll have growth scans at 32, 34 and 36 weeks. Honestly try not to worry, once they pick up on something, they keep a close eye on you and baby x

Thanks everyone❤️ its nice to hear your nto alone and thats its not always smooth but its okay! Hope everyone is okay!x

I’m classed as high risk, my baby has a chance of bone diseases and broken bones, problems with brain development and premature birth. I also have a higher chance of pre-eclampsia. I think my growth scans are every 2/4 weeks after 20 weeks. I also see 2 different consultants in the maternity department each month and then an endocrinologist for myself. My 12 week bloods showed I could have Thalassaemia so got to re do my bloods on Tuesday too. But everything seems okay so far

I’m high risk and haven’t even had my 12 week scan yet. It’s on Wednesday. Very anxious. Stage 4 Endo and my colon is fused to my uterus. Worried about what to expect as this is my first 😬 so many reasons you can be classed as high risk but at least there’s additionally monitoring
