I was like that. I felt like I had nothing. We got the crib and put it together when I was 30+ weeks, I believe. I got lucky in a sense that I had to have a planned c-section at 37+6, so I knew when I needed my hospital bags packed but I still felt like I couldn't do it and didn't have everything until the couple days before.

@Kai understandable cause I’m bout to be 30 weeks next week and with me being a planner these things kind of overwhelm me

@Kai how was the c section procedure I’ve heard different stories

@Simone M for me, it was fine. I have PTSD and trauma from childhood surgery, so I was very, very scared, but honestly, the worst part of the actual surgery was the freezing/numbing in my back before they did the spinal anesthesia. Post surgery, the recovery isn't too bad; pain went away after a week and a half or so. The worst pain of the entire thing was the first time I peed. They put a catheter in you, and after your anesthesia wears off, you have 6 hours to pee, or they put a catheter back in. I was having trouble peeing and was in so much pain because my bladder was so full.

@Kai omg I can’t imagine what u had to go through … I’m sorry to hear that did the pain wear off after wards?

@Simone’ yeah, it was weird, the pain was because my bladder was full and as it emptied it hurt (not the peeing itself but for some reason the feeling of the bladder shrinking was painful) but after I peed the first time I was totally fine. While in the hospital for a few days, I did take the dilaudid they had for me, but I didn't need it the last day or at home. At home was just Tylenol every 6 hours and naproxen every 12 hours. I felt I could have stopped before the prescriptions ran out but I was told by the nurses I know who had c-sections to take the whole thing because if you stop early it takes more time for the meds to kick back in when you take them again, and also to keep on top of the pain/stay on top of the timing for meds because less pain means faster recovery.

My whole house is a mess, I have stuff for her but it’s not organized at all. I’m having a C-section in a month and I feel like the clock is ticking

I promise you, you got this. Babies need so much less than a lot of people make it out to be. I didn’t have a nursery. I didn’t have a crib. I pretty much only had a bassinet stroller and bottles, which I never used, he needed a special bottle. He was born 7 weeks early. And his father and I both lost our jobs 3/4 weeks before he was born. So I wasn’t ready in the slightest. My dad bought the car seat while I was still in the hospital. Your baby doesn’t need anything fancy. It’s okay to be nervous and panicking. But you’ll be okay. Also don’t worry too much about the bags being packed to go to the hospital. Most of what you would need the hospital provides. My suggestions for what they don’t provide. A brush, hair ties, light easy to wear dresses (trust me you will not want pants) and easy slip on shoes. Don’t bring your own underwear, you will ruin it. They have disposable underwear and they’re perfect for what you’ll need. Good luck. You got this.

Hey Simone, As a planner I totally feel you on this. It’s can be overwhelming. The key is to have resources at hand. I’m a birth and postpartum doula. If you ever find yourself in a bind and just want to run by me what you have vs what you think you need I’m definitely here for you. What do you feel you’re missing? I would subscribe to a few YouTube channel geared towards pregnancy and motherhood. It can help you feel a bit more confident. https://youtu.be/OB7d9hpAMTQ?si=0jfCKcVO9o_WE3jY
