My partner (male) had to be under 35 in case he needed surgical sperm removal. My BMI had to be under 30 to qualify for NHS funding? Not sure if it's the same for private x

So I have a couple friend whom started IVF before myself, The female was refered due to her fallpion tubes removed, The partners BMI is over 50. During the process they realised the partner had a very low count and they cannot make adjustments or change the protocol for him personally.. they will only proceed in the women's interest e.g ISCI to try and help, but no measures are taken for the partner with the higher BMI unfortunately. It's sad, However, just know that your partners BMI isn't usually an issue as you are refered mainly based on your credentials and the pregnancy process etc, But there are also limitations on what they can do along the way if they are over the criteria.. and can only advise changes to their lifestyle during the process. I'm fairly sure most IVF clinics are different and have different protocols etc when it comes to a difference in BMI of the partners ☺️🙏🏻 But in my friends case, it didn't stop the IVF process happening at all ❤️🤞🏻

I don’t know if your in a straight or same sex relationship…i am in a same sex and it didn’t matter what my partner weighed only me as I’m carrying the baby and using my eggs. X

Hi, it depends on the clinic. Most don’t have thresholds for BMI of the partner of paying privately.
