Announcement Underwhelm

I'm really sorry is wasn't what you wanted/were hoping for. Are you comparing it to the announcement of your first pregnancy?

I think I’ve watched too many pregnancy announcements on TikTok and built up a reaction in my head that I was never going to get. I’m also probably comparing it to the first time as well but I wouldn’t say my parents had that much of a reaction then either, and my MIL always just says she new it and gives a bit of a flat congratulations. Didn’t feel exciting really and it’s left me feeling a bit low

My FIL was the only one who had more of an outburst of joy reaction both times

That’s a shame, I think you answered your own question about comparing yourself to tik tok but try not to let it get you down x x x

Yes I felt like this when I told my parents. It's my first but they already have grandchildren and I felt like they were really not bothered by our news. A shame as it's still my first experience. I think it's quite normal unfortunately (wrongly imo) xxx

@Hannah ah that’s such a shame! Of course and you want to be able to share in the excitement of it but if you don’t feel it reciprocated it kind of tarnishes it a little doesn’t it
