Pre-Op assessment

Morning all, This morning I went to hillingdon hospital for my Pre-Op assessment ready for my C-section Monday morning. Now all they done was take my bloods give me a anti acid tablet ( which I already take ) to take Sunday night Monday morning and a a piece of paper of instructions. However everything they told me was totally different to what I've been told by my obstetrician and team. I've been told I'm up second when this morning she said it will be decided on the day, I've been told no one can be with me as I'm under GA and they told me my partner can and I've definitely been told I will be in for a min of 3days possibly 5days but today told 24hrs and a max of 2 visitors one being my partner. I'm so confused and I'm definitely sure that today was just a rush job and they didn't have a clue!! Can anyone give me a bit more of a insight as to what information might be right xxx Thank you all so much in advance 😊

I was told to arrive at 11am for my C-section but I didn’t end up getting it until 4pm due to the list for the day being changed

@Sarah yep I was told by my Dr that it could change due to emergencies etc but I was more shocked by the Pre-Op assessment as its nothing like what I was told should happen that throw me x

I have my pre op tomorrow and also having my section under GA, so I’ll check back in to see if mine goes any differently!

@Tanya I never had one until the day of my C-section 😅 the only thing I had prior was a swab and consent form but no pre-op

Hiya. Do you have additional complications which may require you to stay 5 days? Pre op ppl will just tell you generic things as they won’t know the ins and outs of your case. I had my c section under GA and they made an exception to allow my husband in the theatre while they put me to sleep, but generally they don’t allow anyone in when under GA. And yeah, max two visitors will be standard.also can I just ask how come you’ve taken the tablet now when ur C-section is on Monday?

@Sarah they didn't get me to sign a consent form xx maybe Monday

@Tia ahh thank you so much huni that would be great xx

@Sofia I've additional complications. I've CSF leak which is fluid leaking from my brain or spine and other illnesses. That's why I'm already prescribed the medication they gave me because I have a condition that it treats xx

@Tanya that makes sense. All the best for tomorrow!
