Potty training

So my son turns 2 next month and he's never showed signs to me of getting his diaper changed etc. As a mother I just know and go ahead and do it. He does not say 2 word sentences and he barely says more than a few words that sometimes are very random and not intentional. How can I tell when to potty train him because I plan on trying for baby # 2 in November and I am unsure how I will work with my 1st with potty training and how long jt takes. Thank you.

I haven’t potty trained my daughter yet she’ll be 2 next month as well, I’ve been told to just wait for the signs like when they’re getting on the toilet or trying to mimmick using the potty if that makes any sense

My daughter will be 2 on the first and I’m currently 34 weeks. We eased into potty training and it’s going well but draining to me at this stage. She’s regressed a little but we’re basically there. My advice is to wait for signs of readiness and stay consistent once you start!

I began potty training my son a couple weeks before him being 18 months and it was a ride. He barely said any words, wouldn’t tell me when he needed his diaper changed I would just do it. But I began potty training him because it was always a struggle to change his diaper. So for 3 days I removed his diaper and I would look for cues that he needed to pee. He wasn’t understanding to much the first day so I decided to sit on his potty and showed him how to pee and that he had to pee in that potty. And he did. After those three days I put undies and pants on him, looked for cues of him needing pee or poop. Now at almost 23 months he tells me when he has to pee or poop and he does it on the regular toilet. I still help him get on the toilet and wipe so I wouldn’t say he’s fully potty trained but he is out of diapers. So for us it took about 3 months to get where we are now. I recommended reading experiences from other people if they did the 3 day potting training.

Now that he knows how to use the toilet, I still keep his potty in our room in case he needs to pee and he does it himself since it’s smaller. I found out im pregnant about a week ago and have not been feeling well so when I need to rest and I need to lay down I make sure the potty is ready for him to use.
