Help please? X

So my friend is doing her annual Halloween party which she sent invites out in January 🫣. Me my partner have decided last minute to take our son on holiday for his 2nd birthday and it just so happens the day we come back is the day of the Halloween party but we land evening time. We haven’t yet booked it but my partner has booked the dates off work already and it’s during school holidays which I get off anyway working with kids part time. What do I say to my friend or how do I put it..

Just do it now and kindly as well if you can't go just be like u will be away celebrating your child's birthday instead of going to Halloween party an maybe u can go to another event later on

Can imagen the friends being abit annoyed as you've been aware of the party since January. But you can say you forgotten when you got a great deal on the dates maybe. Or come back a day earlier.

@Siana Tbf I feel less bad about it because for his 1st birthday she gave an excuse not to come because her and my brother wasn’t speaking. I get that she gave me enough notice but sometimes things happen and going on holiday to celebrate my son’s birthday is priority over Halloween party. Thank you for your reply I’ll say something along those lines.

I wouldn’t overthink it? Things change when you have children and your priority is your baby. I would just say you really wanted to go away for little ones birthday and they’re the only dates your partner could get off. Say you’re sad that it’s fallen on the party date and you’ll be jealous when you see all the pics etc. Xx

@Natalie thank you 🫶🏽
