Potty training

So my daughter has been taking off her pants and diaper any chance she gets and I’m trying to potty train her but it’s just not working she gets so angry during diaper changes but trying to just sit her on the potty is a whole other battle…I feel like I’ve tried everything I’m just feeling very discouraged especially since everyone has been telling me it should take 3 days for her to get it.. and we’ve been doing this over a week, should I just stop trying?

How old is she??

@Kelly she just turned 2

Don’t listen to that 3 day thing thats bs. Every kid is different. Just keep doing your routine no matter how much she fusses. She’ll get it.

The 3 day challenge I’ve heard of is absolutely no diapers for 3 days (besides nighttime. 2 is a great time to do it. What I did when I was a nanny was just have certain “potty breaks”. Like after breakfast? Ok potty time! Just woke from nap? Potty time! I’d have the girls sit on the potty for 2 minutes. If they went, awesome. If not, I didn’t stress or get frustrated. The 3 day thing is helpful to have baby potty’s in the house. Baby may pee on the floor a few times but they’ll soon realize they prefer to be a “big girl” and go in potty. Also maybe some books about potty and maybe big girl undies as a reward?

@Claire omg I think I will try the potty breaks!! I love that sounds so much less stressful ☺️ and yeah my house is full of carpet so the whole going commando is not really a thing I can do lol

@Jaydeen then the 3 day boot camp probably isn’t best for your family! No worries. She will get it in time. Or if you have a back yard, that can work too before weather gets too cold! One of the things that worked with one of the girls I babysat was putting her in undies. She didn’t like peeing in it and having wet legs after a few times and figured it out. lol not for everyone, but it’s an option!
