Also if he is having juice I would cut it out or reduce it as I found an association between juice drunk and accidents had. Juice seems to go straight through my boy and makes him wee a lot more than his usual pattern. If he is just doing a dribble get to the potty as soon as you notice so he can finish his wee there. Maybe if he’s getting distracted when playing keep an eye on the time to and his usual patterns and prompt him to go if it’s got to the time when you would usually expect a wee.
Hi jess Thank you so much for your comments. Literally everything you have said above is my little boy and everything we are already doing or have done. I've cut juice out because it was going through him like anything and now he's barely having accidents at all but I find he doesn't reallt need to use the toilet much so he's going when I'm prompting him (leaving the house, sitting down for dinner etc) so I'm questioning has it clicked. We have days and days without accidents and then all of a sudden could have 3 in 1hr (this hasn't happened in a while). Thanks again really appreciate it to know it's not just us x
We had a regression with toilet training I think also about the same amount of time in. No issues with poops or when leaving the house but had a nightmare with him having wee accidents at home. Like your little one he switched to just not caring. We pushed through and then a couple of weeks later everything clicked and we stopped having any accidents at all. Things I did: when we were having accidents I would go back to basics and go naked from the waist down again at home, when he started to wee I would ensure he goes on the potty- even if he did a full wee accident I would still put him straight on the potty, I didn’t make a big deal of accidents but I would say every time that wee goes in the potty or toilet and not in our pants or on the floor, when he did go to the potty or toilet I would try and make more of an effort to praise him for it-no reward just with words.
