Birthday cake?

Are you letting your child eat normal birthday cake, doing a special cake or cake just for adults?!

We are doing a cake smash so he will get to eat that one, and then probably a tiny bit of the cake we have for anyone else we see.

Normal cake 😄

First birthday. I made a “good” one. Tasted 🫤 Second birthday (year ahead) he had cake for the first time. Loved doing the candles 🤣🤣

We’re just doing a normal cake and he’ll have a little bit. We’re in the everything in moderation camp 😊

I made a normal chocolate cake for adults and a little individual special cake for him with no added sugar. I 'iced' it with vanilla whipped cream and blueberry drizzle, put a candle on it and it looked amazing. I tasted some and it wasn't great, a bit bready but my son doesn't know any different and he loved it so that's all that mattered! I think just do what you're comfortable with, there's no right or wrong. It is absolutely fine for them to have a small bit of normal cake or it's also fine to wait and give them a sugar free/healthier option.

I'm doing a watermelon cake (loads of fruit) my boy is obsessed with fruit 😋

I made a sugar free banana based cake but put a fondant icing on so it still tasted nice & still looked pretty, but scraped off the majority of icing for baby’s portion!
