Hi Danielle, I’m thinking of complaining as well. I’m pretty sure the other women in the group felt the same but felt awkward to ask them as we walked out. To top it off, there was a massive birthday cake and snacks in the room for themselves and the staff! You couldn’t make it up! I’ve just managed to do my first reading by re-reading the instruction manual as they rushed it so much I had no idea what I was doing! I’m following the gestational uk Facebook and website seems to have way better info in that the nhs booklet they chucked in the bag! Hoping the rest of the journey isn’t so vague or rushed!
When I did mine they offered a separate session that was with a nutritionist to help with understand the diet and exercise side of things.. Not sure if you've been offered the same, but it's worth it 😊
Thanks Lucy, I’ll ask my midwife if I don’t get offered anything!
I felt the exact same way with the ‘education’ session I attended. I gave my hospital trust feedback because I was so shocked at how bad it was. They didn’t even show us how to set up the monitor device and certainly didn’t tell us what we could eat. It was 90% just them telling us all the things that can go wrong with GD, including SB. I left feeling scared to eat anything.
