The waiting game

Waiting for the first visit at 12 weeks sucks!! First trimester has been incredibly difficult for me and I haven’t had any medical professionals to reach out to. I was planning to do my care with a midwife center but they require a deposit before proceeding with care. I don’t have the money yet so now I’m left with either a) waiting even longer, or b) just moving forward with an OB that accepts my (sh*tty) insurance. What would you do?

Can you start with an OB that accepts your insurance and then switch later once you’ve saved the money? I have a lot of friends that switched providers mid-pregnancy!

Hey KayLee, Alexis here👋🏾 I’m so sorry to hear what you are going through. I’d it possible to look into another office to get in sooner? That’s way too long to wait! I had to wait 2 weeks and that was hard enough as a FTM so I cannot imagine what you are going thru! Sending support your way💕

@Abby this is definitely an option! I guess it’s probably my best option at this point, it just feels like it will end up being more expensive when it’s said and done.

@Alexis I probably will end up seeing someone who takes my insurance until I have the money for my preferred center saved up, it just sucks not being able to go with your desired plan!

@KayLee I understand! I know it’s hard, but try not to be hard on yourself. I’m definitely planning on switching OBs and going to a completely different hospital because I just feel like there’s better out there!
