How does one assert boundaries with father of child after he has bashed your name to his entire family?

My ex did this before I ever met his family. Then he bashed his family to me. Ex is blocked by everyone, shunned by the family. I even went and hung out with the family for a birthday party for his grandma with our daughter that he's never met

He’s gone round telling people I’m insane and unfit and expects me meet his side of the family like nothing ever happened. I’ve never met anyone so selfish and out of touch.
