Sugar and pregnancy

Is anyone concerned about their sugar intake while pregnant. I mean I drink juice literally everyday, and so much of it. How likely is diabetes to happen? Like do you have to have a family history of it? And what are signs that might indicate if diabetes does happen without taking test..?

I’ve had two babies, ate exactly what I wanted no matter how bad it was😂 I drank full fat coke constantly because I felt faint without it🙈 I really wouldn’t be concerned over juice, obviously it can happen but I assume it’s unlikely as I don’t know anyone personally who’s had it, so it can’t be really common xx

GD is all down to how your body views your placenta not how much sugar you do or don't have. It's why it goes away immediately after birth. However for your health I'd be limiting total sugars a day even if you weren't pregnant.

I def have wayyyy too much sugar constantly. It also doesn’t help that before he was moving constantly (30+ weeks) that was my way of getting him to move to see if he was ok in there.

I tried to really limit my sugar intake at the beginning of my pregnancy but my baby seems to crave sweet things, especially caramel! If I feel sick, eating something sugary instantly lifts the nausea. I’ve given up fighting it 😂

I had soooo much sugar during my pregnancy. In the first few weeks I tried to limit it and I was eating so healthy, but by the end of the second trimester, I was eating whatever I wanted. My biggest craving was cake and fizzy sweets, so as you can imagine I definitely had way too much. My baby boy came out perfectly healthy!

You can’t get GD from your diet x

Sugar is not going to give you GD
