GD diagnosis

I've just been diagnosed with GD but don't have an appointment to discuss it for 2 weeks, I'm completely lost as to what to do in the meantime. I feel so overwhelmed with it all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Bah it’s so rough. I’m happy to help — DM me!

I’m in the early stages too. For now,cut out sweet things, swap to brown rice, pasta and bread and only have small amounts of carbs in your meals

Check out this website and the Facebook group that goes with it for info. https://www.gestationaldiabetes.co.uk/

All the above and don't stress too much! Once you get the monitor you'll know your own levels but I found I didn't need to make too many tweaks beyond the obvious to be within safe levels. https://www.diabetes.org.uk/guide-to-diabetes/enjoy-food/eating-with-diabetes/gestational-diabetes

Don’t stress I had it and had my baby in July. I was super overwhelmed to begin with too but actually it wasn’t too bad. Just try to volume eat vegetables and fruit as much as possible with meals and find snacks and meals that work for you that you like. Some carbs will spike your sugar more than others so just have to trial n error! It will be okay though xx

Visit gestational diabetes.co.uk and its Facebook group. You'll get much bettwr information from there than you ever will the NHS , unless your trust has started to give out Jo's information , like mine has x
