Rain Ruining Birthday Party

My baby’s “One in the Sun” themed party may be ruined. We were doing a backyard party with some water play and games. At first things were looking good weather wise. Now, it says 50% chance of rain on some sites or 65% on another. I live on the east coast and hurricane Francine I think has made this switch up. I have all the party stuff in the theme and ironically it’s going to rain. We’re planning on moving it inside, but my house really doesn’t have a great hosting setup and my husband was like we may just have to cancel and only have a few of the people over for it. I don’t really want to cancel, but I’m struggling figuring it out how to make it work. Finding a venue last minute isn’t easy and there’s not a whole lot of small kid friendly indoor play areas near me. We have a small loft area in our house we could move the small kids to and the adults could stay downstairs, but the point of the party is for my daughter and not for us to be broken up. We played around with the idea of a tent going up in our backyard, but the forecast says possibility of thunderstorms too. I’m so sad about this, but really trying to stay positive 😔 Everyone says kids aren’t going to remember their 1st birthday party, but I’ll never forget her outdoor/sunny themed 1st birthday party was forced to be indoors 🥴 What would you do?

Breathe Mama! I know you want to make her feel special and want everyone to come and witness the special day. But! We can not control the weather so I would just do it inside and be safe. I’m sure she’ll be just as happy! Move things around if you have to. Hope she has the happiest birthday! 💕

@Krysty Thank you so much!!

See if there is a small church that will let you use a room or something. Even if weather forces it indoors everyone will be sharing the space.

Mine was ruined by weather last Saturday, we just made the most of it
