Aspirin

Had a call from my midwife yesterday that my appointment from mid October is being moved to next week as I need to be prescribed aspirin because of something to do with my placenta but I’m clueless and now slightly worried🙃 anyone had the same? I’m 14 weeks today 🫶🏽

I have to take aspirin due to high blood pressure in my last pregnancy. They also mentioned that they are checking the blood flow from the placenta at the 20 week scan so it could be that?

This is my third baby and I have been prescribed aspirin twice a day as my second baby was born small. They think the placenta wasn’t working as it should have been so I’ve been told that aspirin helps get more blood into the placenta so that it doesn’t happen again in this pregnancy xx

I’ve had that this time, low PAPP-A could mean a small baby so the Asprin is designed to help blood flow to the placenta. You’ll take 2 tablets a day and get about 4 growth scans booked in after 24 weeks to track baby and make sure they aren’t too small 😘

@Steph my first was small and I was induced 3 weeks early because his weight started dipping but nothing was ever mentioned that time so I’m guessing that was the reason he was so tiny but it wasn’t picked up like this one has been xx

I have been on 150mg of aspirin daily from 8vweeks

I’m on the aspirin. I have low Papp a which is blood to the placenta. I wouldn’t stress, they will just monitor the baby’s growth closely

I was just prescribed aspirin yesterday they said I have high blood pressure x

I’m on 150mg of asprin as my mum had pre eclampsia, apparently I’d be higher risk
