Nexplanon implant symptoms

Hi mummas! Has anyone here had the Nexplanon implant before and if you did what were your side effects? How was your bleeding? Etc etc (it would possibly be more sense to me if you were/are a breast feeding Mumma as that’s how I feed my babe too! But I don’t mind everyone’s experiences!) I got it put in today and just would like a heads up of what could possibly happen 🫶🏻

Oh god I'm having mine done in a few weeks have you heard of any???

@Kate only ones I know from the top of my head is bleeding may be heavier or lighter and may be longer than what you are used to but I’m not sure about other symptoms the leaflet I got didn’t really explain much so I hope you get told more!

I had this implant a little while ago (I wasn’t breast feeding so not sure how accurate this will be for you) but I genuinely hated it so much I put on so much weight, had horrible mood swings and lost my sex drive completely. Everyone’s experiences are different though! My period stopped completely while on it as well.

I had it for a year & I can’t lie it was the worst year of my life 🤣🫠. I ended up begging them to take it out. I don’t actually know anyone that had a positive experience with it. After having it fitted for 2 weeks I started bleeding, and I then bled every single day for the rest of the year. They put me on the pill alongside it for 3 months to try and stop the bleeding… didn’t work. On top of that I was an absolute crazy angry psychopath , the moods were HORRENDOUS. I genuinely feel sorry for anyone in my life at the time. Hope someone has a better experience for you 😅

I was on nexplanon for around 10 years. Whenever I got a new one fitted, the bleeding was awful I won’t lie. With my first ever one, I bled non-stop for 6 months. After that settled, my periods were irregular and typically lasted around 1-2 weeks 🥲

My personal experience with Nexplanon is that my periods stopped completely while it was implanted, I had a lot of weight gain and i experienced a worsening in my depression. But my main concern with the implant was when I had it removed and started trying for my baby it took 4 years to get pregnant, I don’t know if it was the implant that caused the full 4 years without being able to conceive, but I do know it carry’s on affecting your fertility after it’s been removed for a little while, there has been study’s to show this

This was years ago, but I had frequent light bleeding, unfortunately, so I had to have it out. Also, I've still got a scar though I'm probably the only one who notices it!

Had it every 3 years from about 21 to 33. I didn't get a period. Depending on when I had a new one put in i sometimes got a little bit of bleeding for a few days. If I did bleed during it would be a day with a pantiliner and that's it. My mood would be a little all over the place for a couple weeks after a new one but that was about it. I loved mine! Only had it taken out because it run out during COVID and they wouldn't change it due to restrictions (even in 2021) and they left it in 6 months too long and THEN my symptoms got bad. I realised I'd been on hormones for most my adult life so took a break then. I bruised a little after removal (it's harder to remove than put in) but nothing like that picture and she had to wrestle with my arm and make a bigger incision for a LONG time. Everyone is different, same with any hormonal contraception. You don't know how you're going to get on with it until you get it. As for affecting your fertility. That's no guarantee at all. Didn't affect mine at all.

I had them for years and didn't have periods most of the time.
