Dating frozen transfer

I went to the hospital today to discuss what happens now and for more medication. They have estimated my due date as 20th may 2025. She said its hard to know how many weeks I am with a frozen transfer. Has any one else had this?

You are two weeks plus the age of your embryo on transfer day so you should be able to calculate it exactly x

What To Expect has a useful calculator you can use for embryo transfers. If you Google "What to Expect due date calculator" it should pop up (mine takes me directly to the app or I'd provide a link)

So I had the transfer on the 28th August. It's a 5 day embryo. She had my last period as 14th August I told her it was the 9th but she said it wasn't a proper period. I'm confused.

I'm not sure what she means by a proper period but when I input your information it said your due date is May 16th! That being said, babies have a way of doing what they want so it's just an estimate. Any date they give you will be. Congratulations! :)

Yeah I know. Babies make their own rules haha. I just couldn't understand when she said she couldn't say how many weeks I am due to it being a frozen transfer. X

That's so strange considering my clinic gave me a due date after transfer and when I went for my 12 week scan they said they wouldn't change the date even if measurements suggested otherwise because due to it being IVF we knew when everything happened

I also did FET - they first gave me a date based on my last missed period before transfer, and then from 12 weeks onwards they only used the date from dating scan and completely disregarded the previous one.

Obviously it doesn't really matter too much it just confused me a bit. X

I had a frozen transfer and my clinic gave me a due date. That was the date the nhs then used as my due date too. They didn’t change it based on my 12 week scan.

If they don't have much knowledge of IVF then they may not know how to calculate it, and sometimes the systems are only set up to calculate using LMP, with no other options. But yes on the day of transfer you would have been 2+5, so you can count 38 weeks and 2 days from there to get your due date or use an online IVF calculator. It may change when you have your dating scan on the NHS anyway!
