Potty training

My 9month old uses the potty daily, I sit them on it often and on nappy changes.. she uses it 9/10 and getting better at communicating with me about it, ie letting me know when she’s done and reaching for the wipes ect anyone else started already?

Yesss! i’ve been potty training my daughter! She just turned 10 months she’s been peeing in it majority of the time just pooping in it is hard! I try and catch her in the middle of a poop and throw her on the potty 💀 it’s really hard ngl. But good for you! You’re doing a great job!

How do you start ?

@Weronika I bought a little potty on amazon. Get the ones you can put little garbage bags in! A lot easier to clean. I put her on the potty every morning and around the time of day i notice she pees a lot. I started doing it once a day and slowly started adding a potty break and i made her sit until she peed and when she would pee I clap and make her feel like she did something good! Poop you kinda notice when your kid is pooping or getting ready to poop. Like my daughter has to stand and poop cause she doesn’t like the poop touching her butt So when she’s standing I’m like trying to beat the poopy clock and throw her on the potty. But it’s honestly practice. eventually they know they have to pee on the potty and they do it right away once you sit them down. Hope this helps!

I love this! I started sitting my little girl on the toilet on a seat from around 3 months old just to get her used to it and whenever I think she’s going for no.2 I sit her on and 9/10 times she’ll do a poop. We make a habit of every night before her bath sitting her on the toilet too. We praise and say ‘wee wee’ or ‘poo poo’ so those words relate to sitting on there. She doesn’t communicate anything to go on but I think it’s such good practice for them. Well done your doing amazing🥰🥰

I wish I did that. I’m planning on potty training after her first birthday, but def should’ve started from 3 months like you did @Melissa

@Amal honestly try not to put any pressure on yourself 1 is still a really good time to start. My only suggestion would be to get a seat that goes on the toilet as once you’ve ‘potty’ trained you’d then have to train them to sit on the toilet and can be quite scary so just skip the potty go straight onto the toilet🥰 x

That’s a really good tip you’re right, I would’ve put her on the toilet after she got bigger anyway. Definitely doing that. Thank you for kind words ❤️ @Melissa
