Potty training 😰

I’m thinking about potty training my 2 year old, we have tried before with her but no luck just yet I put it down to perhaps she wasn’t ready. Lately she’s been getting really bad nappy rashes and it breaks my heart when trying to change her I’ve no idea why or how because I’m forever changing her 😅 I just think it’s time now. We have all the essentials bits (potty, knickers toilet seat with steps, rewards, reward charts, etc) I’ve got it all ready but I just need some advice. With her recently going into flying starts the majority are either potty training or have already cracked it and I don’t want her to be the odd one out. I always give her nappy free time and she pretty good at not having an accident but is scared to sit on either the potty or toilet. I’ve tried sitting on it myself but still won’t. Any tips and tricks would be fab x

put the potty in front of the TV, gather a bunch of toys and books and snacks and get her to sit on the potty and play with her and keep her distracted until she goes then have a HUGE celebration hahaha she will eventually get the hype of using the potty!! or you can put cheerios in the toilet and tell her to make them float and i’ve seen some moms use food colouring and they get to choose what colour they want to use when they use the potty to die their poop or pee whatever colour

ik scream time is not ideal but it keeps then distracted from realizing they are sitting on the potty

once there is a level of excitement then you can implement it in her routine. once she gets up in the morning she can sit on the potty or before a nap or before you leave the house

ALSO important to use a puppy pad or something that soaks up pee in her car seat too in case of an accident in the car:)

you can also face her towards the back of the toilet and put toys or a colouring page on the back of the toilet
