Questions/Tests you asked doctor before transfer

I am in my thirds retrieval waiting for results on how many made it to blastocyst. And have 1 6AA embryo on ice. I will def move on to transfer next regardless of the outcome of this current cycle, but I feel like I need to maximize success for transfer and rule out any potential problems with implantation. What sort of tests did you do ahead of time or would recommend before transfer? Thanks sooo much!!

I just had a hycosy which came back normal and I am going to have an endo receptiva test before my next transfer (TBD on when; just starting prep for my third egg retrieval)

Thank you Rachel!! Best of luck on the third, always good to hear from you!!

@Carmen thank you! Good luck to you too, friend!

Transfers are often easy but for me, they’ve been difficult and unpredictably so. After my fresh transfer (which they had to abandon and freeze the embryo) I was recommended a hysteroscopy with cervical dilation. We had this done in Greece (my partner is Greek and the NHS waiting list was long) and we were informed that a hysteroscopy is done at some point before every transfer in Greece, to ensure the path through the cervical canal is clear and also, to find and remove any polyps from the cervix before a transfer is attempted. In addition to this, they always have a hysteroscope (which has a camera) in the room for the transfer in case ultrasound alone is not good enough to visualise the route to the cervix. Greece has a higher IVF success rate thank the UK. In lieu of that, you could always ask for a mock transfer to ensure you won’t run into any difficulties when there’s a real embryo in play! Good luck!

Thank you so much Laura! Yeah clinic said they would do an uterine evaluation, will learn more what this means when I call with cycle day 1
