Second caesarean

Hello I’m due to have my second section next Friday and I’m for some reason a lot more nervous this time around? I’m not sure if it’s because I’ll be leaving my daughter or if it’s because I know what to expect this time around but I’m really scared, any words of advice? Has anyone else been more scared the second time around?

Yes!! I am! I think it’s because mine was an emergency section first time which made it all quite scary. And also I know how hard the recovery was so I can imagine the pain etc again. I’m trying not to think too much about it but it’s playing on my mind a lot. I’m going to do a playlist this week and I’m hoping that will make me feel a little better about it. Good luck xx

No words of advice but just letting you know I’m also in the same boat. I’m due mine on Friday and I couldn’t be more scared, I’m terrified of recovery, of the actual surgery, of everything😩 I’ve had a massive cry session about it each day for the past few days😂

I had my second c-section on the 29th and it was a piece of cake! Honestly I was the same so nervous, I was more nervous because I had to go under general but honestly recovery has been so easy, I was able to fully walk around and do things by day 3

Hi I completely understand. I felt the same for my second and to be honest I felt the recovery was more painful. But nothing to worry about I did recover well and no issues. I think already having a child makes the whole thing different second time around. It’s understandable to feel more anxious but I am sure you will be fine xx

@Alana did you not have any anesthesia the first one?

I had my second a month ago and it was honestly the best experience even the recovery was so much quicker and nicer. I was shitting it before the surgery but everything was so calm and relaxed. I was able to move my legs again by that night then was up and walking, showering myself etc the next day with ease

I had my second 6 weeks ago and was really nervous second time round particularly about the spinal. I told the surgical team in the morning about my anxiety and they really listened to me and talked me through everything. My recovery has been far quicker this time round. I kept reminding myself that the pain will pass and moving about (within reason) is good for me., Hardest part was not being able to get on the floor and play with my son for several weeks but we found other ways to play with me on the sofa and him playing next to me. I was more bothered by it that he was.

@Cee I had a spinal but second time around it wouldn’t last long enough

@Alana oh wow! Well I’m glad it ended up being easy on you.

@Alana was there a reason why it didn’t last long enough the second time around do you know?

@Lucy Thorman to much scar tissue from my previous section and surgeries x
