Potty training and carpet 🫠

Same!!! I wanted to do it this summer so he could be in the garden but he wasn’t quite ready!!! I’m not to worried about wee we that comes out of carpet with vanish but a poo 😳 If I watch him I reckon I could catch a poo coming keep a towel in areas you can grab easily.

We have carpet throughout the whole house, so we have invested in a carpet cleaner from costco just under £100.

Wait until summer so you can be outside and do it when they’re ready

@N 💞 @Francesca yea I think we'll wait until summer.. we were supposed to this year but he got diarrhoea once we came back from holiday

@Sydni they’re still so little. We’ve only just done our 3 year old this summer and he got it in 3 days, because he was ready and asked to not wear a nappy anymore.

I’m waiting until she’s really ready because I’ve heard they pick it up in a few days then. She only poo’s once a day so it’s only a few poo’s to worry about then 😂 i’ve not looked into it at all so this might be a ‘no-go’ but potentially underpants to catch the poo incase you don’t see them trying to go? My cat has got poo on the rug before now and dr beckmans carpet cleaner got it out no problem so I’d definitely recommend it for any accidents xx

Honestly, if they’re ready you shouldn’t have accidents! I waited till my eldest (now 5yrs) was ready, and he had just turned 3 and we had no accidents! He knew exactly when he needed a wee or a poo, and took himself straight to the potty x

Mine is giving me signs hes getting close to wanting to potty train.he pulls his nappy off and if he cant do that because he had pants on be resaches in and pulls front part out of his nappy. By next summer he should be well on his way to potty train

Our little girl, almost 22 months was ready and cracked it in a few days. We bought knickers for her and just swapped from nappies to those! We had a couple of wee accidents but she quickly realised when she felt wet. She picked it up quickly even with clothes on. Maybe just give it a go and see how it goes?
