@Louisa thank you so much😂😫i’ve been so worried, i hope she is just growing and i don’t have diabetes but i was told a lot of women get diabetes in pregnancy and they lose it again after having the baby xx
Yeah gestational diabetes is pretty common in pregnancy, it’s different to regular diabetes though as it’s nothing to do with your health or diet, just your placenta which means once you deliver the baby and placenta it will go away :)
@Louisa ah okay thank you! i hope that’s the case for me. will i take any medication or anything for it? also been told in most cases it goes away but there is a chance it can stay with me x
I had a 10lbs 10oz baby and they told me he was going to be 8lbs.. growth predictions are useless! I didn’t have diabetes so it’s not a one size fits all with these things.. hopefully you won’t have it either, and if you do it can be dealt with and controlled so try not to worry
@Loulou bloody hell girl well done you!! 10lbs i couldn’t even imagine it!! thank you xxx
Haha thanks he was definitely a surprise 😂
Growth scans are notoriously inaccurate so try not to stress yourself out too much! My baby was measured to be 5lb4oz at 34 weeks but when she was born at 41 weeks she was only 6lb11oz so unless she just stopped putting on weight those last few weeks, they were very wrong 😂 I think 70% of the time growth scans are accurate within a 20% margin either side of what they say, or something ridiculous like that haha so not a very reliable stat considering they will push induction based on the scans. Your body will grow a baby that you’re capable of birthing 🫶🏼
