Yes parental starts automatically if you were already on Mat benefits and you already told them how long you plan to be off.
@jill only if you haven't apply for mat leave or else it just continues automatically for however long you told them you will be off when you applied for EI
There’s a one week waiting period where you don’t get a weekly amount.

You have to log in and apply for the EI on yout MyCRA account to place the date of birth. Or call them on the day you give birth. There is a 2 week delay for processing before you get your first payment.
