@Rosie our main bus route is right by our house which stops off in town and outside of our hospital, I'm prepared to walk (to get rid of the pregnancy weight š) and my partner has already agreed that if needs be I can drop him off at work and keep the car for the day but some nights he's not finished till 11pm meaning I'd have to get baby girl in the car to pick him up! I know it's a little sacrifice I just worry about no longer having a car as I've drove nearly everyday for the past 5 years, I won't be getting rid of it until I start maternity leave in 5 weeks so I'll have it for a little longer yet xxx
How long is his commute? When youāre in the thick of it, you might struggle to drive, so have a contingency in place if heās stuck at work. The occasional taxi home, or lift from a colleague might be an option? You can defo make it work by the sounds of it.
Do you have things nearby that you can walk to? Supermarkets, cafes, parks, friends? And do you have a bus route if you need it? We car share but he commutes by train so I basically have access to it all the time. I donāt tend to use it most days as Iāll go for a walk, shop is local, as is a park. Thereās one day I go to a baby group that is a drive away but I could get a bus and walk if I had to.
