Teething or allergic reaction??? EDIT: definitely a reaction! Leaving this up so other moms can compare and prepare. ❤️

My baby tried pears for the first and second time yesterday and today. She got a tiny bit of redness yesterday but I figured I just wiped her face too hard or something. Today she has this rash. Does this look like allergies? She ate the pears about half an hour ago. She is teething up a storm too though

Following! I could have written this word for word. We tried pears puréed with apples on Thursday and within 20 minutes she had a rash on her face. It lasted about an hour before going away. Yesterday I gave her half a boiled pear and the same thing happened. Also teething (but no teeth) for almost 2 months. I thought pears were supposed to be a low-risk food?

@Heather I called my mom and sent her the same pictures I posted here, and she said it looks like her body just wasn't ready yet. She said my baby might not be allergic to pears forever, just wasn't ready for them. I thought they were low risk too!! They are literally in the gerber first foods pack. She said to hold off for a few weeks and give other foods she's already used to, then slowly slowly reintroduce small amounts in other stuff like cereal

I’m in the same boat, my baby was chewing on a short rib and got red rash around his mouth. Thought it was allergy and freaked out😩 Couple minutes later went away. Yesterday I gave him sweet potato, same thing happened, red around his mouth and went away shortly after. I’m starting to think it’s teething bc today he hasn’t ate anything yet but he has a red cast around his mouth again🤔

Just wanted to add, your baby may grow out of it or still have it as they get older! I’m allergic to apples, when I brought it up to a doctor they said it’s more common if you get hay fever/seasonal allergies, your body may react to the pollen in certain foods. Your baby girl is super cute btw ❤️
