Potty training.

So I’ve been trying to potty my little boy for the past 4 months… still not doing great 🙈 He’s not really that interested in using toilet or potty and obviously having a lot of accidents which is taking its toll on my carpet and sofa.. Apparently he can use the toilet at nursery, but at home it’s just not progressing. I’d really like him to be dry and wearing pants by the time he’s 3 (Nov 18th) has anyone got any new tips or advice? I’ve tried the usual stuff, asking him if he needs a wee and lots of praise and encouragement when he does go. Much love 😬

We tried lots of different methods. Lb is 3 Nov 8th we found doing the 3 day method worked really well for us LB has been dry for over 3 weeks day & night

No tips here but I feel the same! My son is so smart and ahead of everything expect potty training he just doesn’t want to know! Don’t feel yourself needing a reading I feel now they will do it in their own time (within reason!) x

I would just say keep it super casual as if he isn't ready it may make him see potty training in a negative light and he be even more reluctant to go through the process x

Try to let him watch episodes of Peppa Pig or other cartoons about potty training, I trained my daughter 5 months ago at 2.5yo and she learnt in 3 days using the "Oh Crap" method. I also used her toys and pretend them to use the potty so she found it funny about the entire process 😅

We can see by her tell that's he needs to go and she has had one accident recently and the odd time of she had a nap and refused to wee before but had gone not awfully long prior to that. My girl is the exact same age. We tried in August after failing at end of June. We initially used one jelly as reward for wee and 2 for poo (I know you shouldn't use food but it worked and we have quickly weaned her off it) and a sticker for pulling up her knickers 🙈 Maybe you could try a sticker reward system? Use dolls to go and ask him to help dolly go to the toilet then ask him to go...I sometimes say oh I think I see a wee hiding in there....if she refuses which she has been doing more recently. Sometimes I just put her on the toilet and reinforce we want to try keep nice and dry and then say oh I knew there was a wee hiding in there and lots of praise. I have a little boy too so if I can avoid the accidents I try. She only poos in a potty and it's now in evening time before bed which is only since training. X

@Sam May I know what 3 day method is?
