Could it have been the health visitor?
Midwives will always book in at a clinic, could have born the HV, they do pop out to see you before baby is born x
He said was a health visitor not a midwife 🙈 (men aye). Does anyone know what this could be for ??
Whether HV or MW they should have booked and confirmed it was suitable before showing up to be honest.
@Amy HV come out to see you before baby is born just to see if you need anything and to give you your red book, they ask general questions about family support and if you're ready for baby etc. Usually they send a letter out with an appointment rather than just turning up, you can usually find a community HV line for your local council online, might be worth giving them a call and querying the visit and rebooking x
Nobody came to see me before the birth it was after they came round
@Tasha I think it only got changed last year if I remember correctly, they come out before now and give you your red book

I got a letter 2 weeks ago saying a HV is coming round if the time etc suits us , which is does, so she is due to come this Tuesday
That’s odd for the midwife to turn up unannounced. The only time I ever do that is if someone’s not turned up for appointments and they aren’t answering my calls. The health visitors however do just rock up
I had a health visitor turned up before the birth but it was no surprise as they sent me a letter by post a few weeks in advance
I'm 32 weeks and I've got an appointment for them to come round in a couple weeks time before I have baby. I got a letter about it saying I needed to make an appointment, if I didn't have make one they'll call.
I had a health visitor come to my home and walked me through all the support that’s available and to see how I am. It’s a lovely service. They did send out a letter but no emails so perhaps you may have missed the post. I didn’t get a red book though
That's so odd. I've never had that!
