Work holidays

I am the same! I am assuming if its alright with management, maybe take them at the end of mat leave?? Because it the guidance at my work anyway it does say you need to take the annual leave still😭🤣

I mean I'm not a 100 percent but defo going to try and do that if it is possible because don't want to waste them holidays!

Yeah you’re still entitled to all of your leave and most places won’t pay you beyond nine months so I’d use your holiday at the end of your leave so you have some money coming in

You can normally use all your accrued holiday at the end of your mat leave. My holiday year is from Jan, so with my last baby being a November baby I bolted my 7 weeks of annual leave onto end of mat leave so I got basically 14 months off, but the last month or so was at full pay as I was technically back at work and on annual leave, so can work really well financially

Most places let you return to work and use all your leave in one go. Alternatively some people choose for a period of shorter weeks and return 'part time' to use up their leave but it just depends when you go back if you'd have time to do that! I'm just returning from mat leave and will also be allowed to carry so many days over to next year. Some small companies will pay you the leave time instead of you taking it off! Also, don't forget you also get bank holidays added to your entitlement. 😊

You’ll get all your leave to use and bank holidays on top the year you go back. If you can’t use it all before the end of the next holiday year they’ll have to pay you for the days.
