First period after pregnancy

Has anyone had their first post partum period yet? My period started a couple of days ago 5.5 weeks after my baby arrived. My blood is super bright red, and different to pre pregnancy. Has anyone experienced this? I have a health visitor appointment Monday so will follow up with them

Yep, four weeks PP like first time 🙃 I found it wasn’t as painful but very heavy

Oh god I didn’t realise it could happen so soon! I am five weeks pp and have cramps out of nowhere so I hope it’s not a period - I am nervous for some reason

@Mairead I think it happens sooner of you bottle feed. Mine is not especially painful which is great as I have adenomyosis which causes really painful periods , so I am hoping my periods do not go back to that, but before I would bleed very little for a couple of days and now I'm on day 3 of fairly heavy bleeding. It's just so red!

It does tend to happen sooner in formula fed babies however some of us unlucky ladies who breastfeed will have early PP periods too 🥲

I remember I had my first period 3months pp with my first child, I was still breastfeeding too. It was the worst period I have ever had. Very painful, lots of blood too! All of the other mums from my NCT group said the same!
