When do you phone the gp to book in with a midwife

What do you say.? And how does the first appointment usually go? I'm very nervous

I didn’t have to go through my GP - I just went onto my local hospitals maternity web page and you register there! Just fill in the details then they call you to book first appt x

If I remember correctly you register and then they usually contact you to book you in for an appointment. They will go through family history and partners anything related to you nothing to be nervous about

@Molly Sapsed thats only for mid and south Essex.

You can Google your local hospital maternity services, most have an online form you fill in to self refer. Most GPs don't want to know you when pregnant 😆

I just filled in my GPs online form and they sent me a maternity link to complete once I was 7 weeks pregnant. I would mention though that if you're on any meds to ask straight away if they're safe as it's something I had to ask them separately

Most hospitals you can now refer online. Check your local hospitals website and it’ll tell you about maternity services
