Freaking out

I am so worried of birth. I know the body knows what to do etc but I am so scared of all the what ifs.. the pain.. just everything. I really hate hospital environments too so that already puts me on edge but I'm high risk so can't even consider having the baby birth at home. Ima hella worried. And losing sleep over this :(

Talking through a birth plan with someone could help - you could plan for the “what ifs” and hopefully come to the realisation the what ifs are unlikely. You could also plan for any pain control etc. I really felt like understanding all my options and feeling in control of those made me feel a lot better first time. Some hospitals will allow you to see the delivery rooms - maybe worth an ask! You can definitely ask for as non-hospital a setting as possible eg no staff in the room unless necessary, no students, liaise with your birth partner not you if not urgent, take lights, music and home comforts etc. Perhaps worth a chat with your midwife or consultant about birth plan and options?

I was feeling a bit nervous too after a long (failed) induction which led to a cesarean with my first. I’ve been doing an online hypnobirthing course and it’s really helped with just the basics of what our bodies will be doing and what we can do to ease pain naturally. Definitely recommend xx

I am exactly the same, I’m not sure what to do I feel like I’m leaning towards a section x

I'm very scared too. I'm starting antinatal classes in a couple of weeks though so hoping I get as much information as possible.

If you have them in your area, and the money, you could consider a doula - they will often give support before the birth and are there to help you through the birth - no matter where you have the baby.
