Birth control

I’m currently on the coil however it’s not going well with me as I’m bleeding all the time out the blue and my body just doesn’t feel normal being on it therefore I am booked to have it taken out next week, how effective is pull out method? Does it tend to actually work or not really? As I’ve tried all sorts, different pills, implant, coil. What’s your thought of effectiveness?

I haven't tried it myself but I do know two people who had unplanned pregnancies using the pull out method

So I’m kind of in the same boat. On depo provera since beginning of May and been bleeding ever since, the nurse giving the second dose told me it takes a while for it to stop. Saw a gynaecologist at my gp last week who prescribed me tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding and told me not to get another shot again and stick to the oldest form which was pills and put them next to my toothbrush so I never forget. Of course condoms are always an option too but I think I’m also gonna go off all contraception just to bring my hormones to normal levels and give my body a rest.

@Weronika wait does the tranexamic acid stop your bleeding all together or just for a short while? I’ve been under gyneo for ages I had surgery and everything but they found nothing and discharged me I’ve been bleeding for months at a time

@Meghan so far it’s fully stopped the bleeding as I’m taking the pills (4 a day for 15 days) but I have read online that it doesn’t always stop the bleeding completely. It’s worth mentioning to your gp you want to be prescribed this just so you can get a break from the bleeding even if it’s for 2 weeks and who knows that might jump start your cycle to return to normal

@Weronika yeah that’s what I’m thinking just want my hormones back to normal, I’m exclusively pumping as well so just want hormones to feel some kind of normality soon
