Should I become a stay at home mum?

Should I become a stay at home mum? So I have a 1 year old turning 1 in 2 weeks and I went back to work about 3 months ago ( I’m a support worker) I work 3 days a week from 8:30 am to 9pm so I only see my child 20 minutes in the morning and don’t see him after work. We are trying for another baby and was thinking I should become a stay at home mum after my second maternity. We could just afford to do it. My partner is Latvian so his culture is for the mum to stay at home which I’m fine with. But I also use my job to have a little brake. So what do you think should I stay at work or at home.

I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't, if it's affordable for you financially. I'm a stay-at-home mom at the moment and I've paused my career for now. I'm really content with my choice because I think our little ones are only young once, and I want to savor every moment with him until he's older. I don't feel like it would be the right time to head back to work looking after other kids when my own child needs me the most and I wouldn't be around much for him. Childcare expenses are quite high and it almost seems like one of us would need to work full-time just to afford daycare costs, so we decided it's best if I stay home. Of course, you know your situation best, but if you are considering another pregnancy as well, then this might be a reasonable option for you.

@Diana thank you this helps. 😁

I m a stay at home mum mostly cos I have 3 kids and childcare is more than what I would earn. They are some advantages and disadvantages if you miss your child I can assure you that child is only young once they won't realise what they didn't have but remember who was there 😊😉

Im a stay at home mum I have a 7 year old and a nearly 1 year old I have my own business so I make my hours fit around my kids. My hubby’s is supper supportive I do the home stuff and occasionally take on work and he’s the main breadwinner this works for us alot of people don’t agree with it but it works for us especially with kids and how expensive child care can be
