potty training

My daughter has been successfully potty trained for a couple of weeks now, but not when doing poos. She knows she supposed to do them on the potty but she tells us no she won't do it. I understand this is quite common with toddlers so obviously there must be something holding them back or causing fear/anxiety. Does anyone have any advice or experience on what worked for their little one with the same problem? we've tried bribery with sweets so far but that's about it 🤣

Here for answers. Ours is the same, just won’t sit on the potty but always tells us when he needs to go so we have to get him a nappy. It’s such a waste as he doesn’t need them any other time

@Cat its so hard isn't it! 🥺 would just be good if we could read their minds and work out why they don't like it then maybe we would have something to work with!

Our daughter is the same, she’s been really good with weed and at times has used the potty for a no.2 but more than often does it in her knickers or waits for a nappy for nap time and does it then. Apparently it’s really common (our nursery told us) and not to worry. It’s just one thing that they can control so they do it in their own time!

My little girl was the same for the first 3 or 4 weeks of potty training. One day she just decided she wanted to do it. We did read books about it when she was in the toilet and loads of poo poo song videos.

One of my twins is the same dry all the time but just poos in underpants or in his pull up in the morning . I’m at a loss what to do next as he will not go on the potty just tells us he has pooed in his undies like it’s fine 😭
