Hospital notes

So I’ve seen recently on tik tok and social media’s that you can request all your pregnancy notes and they will send them all in an envelope to your house! Does anyone know where I start with this?? Do I email the hospital my little one was born at or the maternity ward I had all my checks up at?

You email the hospital and fill in a form that they send you. You will need the dates and your ID.

Google your local hospital trust and maternity notes and it should give you either an email address or a form to fill in to request them

I’ve been given all my notes in an electronic form

At my hospital you go through PALS and it came electronically via email. Be aware there will likely be test results you might find hard to interpret without medical knowledge. I had a bad birth experience and I'm afraid seeing my records made clear how many mistakes were made and I was also shocked at some of the language used by staff to discuss me, and I ended up making a complaint as a result. So just be aware of what might be in there.

I can see mines on MyChart

My hospital gave me all of my notes , and they was all of the original copies. They told me to give them to our health visitor but when I tried to she refused them and said the hospital should’ve filed the copies I have x

If you look up your hospital, on website should be ‘access to health records’ should be a email address. You just need your details, baby and 2 proof of ID’s. If not contact birth reflections. I got mine within a 2 weeks of requesting

Not questioning your motives to ask but keep in mind when we request this we generate more work so the NHS is spending funds on someone to send this information to you. Me, for example, didn't have any problems at the hospital so wouldn't ask for my notes as I don't feel the need to have them. But if you feel you need them go for it ♥️♥️
